Family Partnerships/Development

Head Start/Early Head Start staff partner with families to:

  • Identify parents as their child’s first and most important teacher

  • Offer home-visiting and family development services

  • Promote literacy and school readiness skills for their child

  • Volunteer in their child’s classroom and be involved on their academic journey

  • Empower and develop leadership skills by serving on the policy council

  • Set and reach goals

  • Assist in following-up on medical and dental referrals

  • Provide fun family activities and events throughout the school year

  • Attend monthly parent meetings

  • Implement research-based curriculums, both in the classroom and in the home

  • Locate community resources and provide on-going outreach

  • Advocate for and serve the family as a whole, identifying strengths and needs, while celebrating successes

We strongly believe in creating a SCHOOL FAMILY culture, where children and parents feel safe, and optimal learning can occur. Connection is essential in healthy development and everyday success. It is our priority to build and maintain relationships with our children and families!!
